Our Process

THE PROCESS EXPLAINED
1.
Initial contact.
2.
Sit. Talk. Walk and Do.
We can also determine whether it is worth including any add-on services.

Curate. Donate. Sell. Farewell.

We provide regular updates so you’re never out of the loop—and always confident that we’re handling your belongings with the utmost care.
Curate. Donate. Sell. Farewell.
Our process isn’t just about clearing space—it’s about honouring belongings through their entire journey. Here’s how we take care at every step:
CURATE - Unearthing Treasures
As we work through each room, we create dedicated spaces for every category. You might hear an excited "Bingo!" when we discover hidden cash or forgotten cheques (which go straight to a secure collection for returning to you).
Those dusty boxes in the attic? They contain the family photos everyone thought were lost.
We meticulously preserve legacy pieces and send you updates—"Have you seen this before?"—with photos of interesting discoveries.
DONATE - Thoughtful Transitions
We don't just pile donations in a corner. Our long-standing relationship with major charities means your donations are boxed, stacked, and labelled with care.
We even send the drivers off with biscuits and tea—they're part of our team. Small touches like cleaning donated items (at no extra charge) help keep perfectly good items out of landfill.
SELL - Resale Management
When it comes to selling, we're refreshingly realistic. We'll guide you through what's actually worth selling versus donating. High-end items can take time to sell, and auction houses can hold items for many months with minimal returns.
We'll manage online listings (if that’s the best option for your items), provide completely transparent accounting (every item with its sale price), and take a 20% commission. Sometimes we even fall in love with items ourselves and make offers—any cash goes directly back to you.
FAREWELL - Discard and Recycle
Not everything can be saved, donated, or sold. For items that have reached the end of their journey, we maintain a thoughtful disposal system. Unlike other services that send everything to landfill, we separate electronics for proper recycling, identify materials that can't go in hard waste, and manage all items for efficient removal.
We're mindful of what truly needs to be discarded versus what can be given new life elsewhere (think an almost finished knitted jumper or tins of old paint). We are active in donating items through our circular economy networks, usually free of charge to you! Even in saying goodbye to items, we do it with respect and environmental responsibility.
Cleaning and extra care
Although not technically part of our job, we also know when to give some old clothes a scrub up (free of charge), or when to sew on a missing button to prevent it going to the bin. For us, this is what it means to handle each job with the sensitivity it deserves. In some cases, by demonstrating this level of care, we’ve been able to extract some significant old shirts, clothing and items that have become treasures to the family members left behind.
Breathing room when you need it
Throughout this journey, we check in just enough—with a regular update. We understand you're processing emotions alongside logistics, so we give you space while ensuring you're always informed. This isn't just stuff we're handling; it's memories. We've got it sorted, so you can focus on what matters most.
